Aging in Place Remodeling
Did you know in 2026 the average annual cost of an assisted living facility is $72,000 per year in Northern Colorado.
For $100k in improvements we can strategically resize doorways, create zero depth entry showers, remove high trip transitions and flooring material, renovate kitchens, bathrooms and bedrooms so homeowner can stay in their homes longer and SAVE a substantial amount of money. JROC offers free assessments for construction, HELOC options, reverse mortgage options with our Real Estate, Lender and Construction team members.
Many families hope Medicaid (Health First Colorado) will cover assisted living. It is important to understand strictly what it does and does not cover:
What it PAYS for: Medicaid DOES pay for care services (dressing, bathing, meds) through the Elderly, Blind and Disabled (EBD) Waiver or the new Community First Choice (CFC) program.
What it DOES NOT pay for: Medicaid NEVER pays for "Room and Board" (rent and food). You must pay this out of the resident's income (Social Security/Pension).
The "Room and Board" Cap: If a facility accepts Medicaid, the state limits what they can charge the resident for room and board. For 2026, this cap is approximately $810/month.
